I bought three books the other day. They were all by the British novelist and dramatist Patrick Hamilton (1904 -1962). So far, I have only read ‘20,000 Streets under the Sky’ by this author, which I hugely enjoyed!
I started ‘Hangover Square’ the day I bought it, and already I am halfway through it. The quality of the writing shows and although not much is actually happening to the protagonist George Harvey Bone, (so far) there is great action going on in his moments when his mind just seems to cease up and then something clicks………. It’s this strange clicking that has led to his decision to kill Netta his unrequited love. I am enjoying this book and shall do a proper eview when I’ve finished it (which will be very soon as I can’t put it down!)
