There is something fascinating about the world of miniatures.  This all started, when as a child I used to visit a nearby Dolls House museum.  These houses were OLD.  Gazing with surpirise at these microscopic worlds filled me with wonder – which has never  ceased.

The tiny furniture, mini foodstuff, utensils and textiles held such a fascination for me.  The dolls house museum has since disappeared.  I never did find out where the collection went.

Along with the houses, there were also dolls, some of them quite frightening.  Wooden dolls, their faces worn away where their little owners had kissed the paint off.

Wax dolls, that looked like dead children, very lifelike, and wearing tattered garments.  Miss Haversham in her faded finery.
